ProsperOn Launches Pilot at WSU with Support from Cornerstone Bank
May 14, 2024
Worcester, MA – April 17, 2024 – ProsperOn, a new financial education platform, is thrilled to announce the successful launch of its pilot program at Worcester State University on March 26, 2024. This initiative, conducted in three classes taught by Professor Abir Bukhatwa, has introduced ProsperOn's platform to a wide range of students, from freshmen to seniors, over a three-week period, to determine the value of the platform for a wider audience on campus.
ProsperOn is dedicated to enhancing the financial education journey for students by providing a comprehensive, autonomous decision-making platform that empowers students to achieve financial security and make educated financial choices. The platform is designed to facilitate experiential learning through personalized storylines unique to each student and their definition of financial success.
After using ProsperOn’s platform, Worcester State student, Evan Armit said “ProsperOn's simulation makes learning and knowing about your financial situation as a University/College student very straightforward and entertaining. Educating yourself sooner rather than later is extremely beneficial, and utilizing this tool is something all students need to be doing.”
Furthermore, students reported on average an 81% increase in their understanding of each learning objective, and 93% of students felt the platform should be in the hands of every student on campus.
The pilot program's launch was made possible through the generous sponsorship of Cornerstone Bank, who’s well known for giving back to the Worcester community through a variety of services including charitable donations, scholarship programs, and most recently the support of ProsperOn’s financial education program.
Cornerstone Bank's RITE Student Checking account aligns well with ProsperOn’s mission to promote student-centric accounts with features like early pay with direct deposit, free ATMs nationwide through full ATM fee reimbursement, and no monthly maintenance service charge until the account holder turns 26. The RITE Student Checking account is tailored to meet the needs of young adults seeking smart financial solutions.
This collaboration between ProsperOn and Cornerstone Bank at Worcester State University marks the beginning of what all three organizations hope will be a long and fruitful relationship. Over the next few weeks, we aim to further define this partnership, with a focus on expanding our reach and impact within the community.
